Preparing for hospitalization

Good preparation is essential to ensure that your hospital stay runs smoothly. Find all our advice and practical information here.

Before you arrive

Required documents

  • Your valid identity card or passport
  • Your up-to-date Vitale card (and that of your beneficiary if required)
  • Your certificate of mutual insurance or Complémentaire Santé Solidaire (ex CMU-C)
  • Your doctor's hospitalization order
  • Results of recent examinations (tests, X-rays, scans, etc.)
  • Your health or vaccination record
  • A list of your current treatments

Documents to be completed and handed in on the day of admission

  • Multimedia package form
  • "Asset and value management
  • Single room" form
  • Person to contact" form
  • Trustworthy person" form
  • Advance directive" form

Packing your suitcase

For your comfort during your stay:

  • Your personal toiletries

  • Comfortable clothes that are easy to put on

  • Non-slip closed shoes

  • Glasses, hearing aids if you wear them

  • Something to keep you busy (book, magazine, etc.)

  • Your contact details and those of your support person and the person to be notified

For your safety :

  • Valuables (jewelry, money, computer, tablet, etc.)

  • Personal medications (unless otherwise indicated by the doctor)

  • Unauthorized electrical appliances (kettle, coffee maker, hair dryer, straightener, iron...)

The hospital cannot be held responsible for the loss or theft of valuables. If you need to keep small valuables (bank cards, rings, identity papers, etc.), you can entrust them to the hospital steward against a signed inventory.

The day of your admission

Arrival time

Report to the admissions office at the time you have been notified.

Admissions office

On arrival, please report to the admissions office at the main entrance. Here you can complete the administrative formalities and hand in your documents. A member of the administrative team will check your file and direct you to your department.

Room installation

Once the formalities have been completed, the care team will welcome you to the department, explain the organization and answer any questions you may have. A member of the medical team will visit you to review your care.
